The academic library is designed to cost-effectively train employees in the fundamentals of math, reading and writing, using “real-world” situations so that employees can apply what they learn to their own jobs.

These courses use workplace situations and terminology, providing an atmosphere of practicality for the employee. Employees understand the course material faster and retain more, allowing them to apply more of their new skills. Since the interactive CD-ROM allows employees to learn at their own pace, organizations have the flexibility to schedule training to meet individual needs. Courses can be customized to address an organization's specific technical training needs.

Description:

Learner interaction is used during the instruction to reinforce and exercise the skills being taught. Simulation (learning by doing) is another training component. Courses use simulation extensively for the student to learn and practice skill-based concepts.

The PC Skills Learning Library provides a powerful yet flexible approach to understanding personal computer software applications and information engineering. A student workbook provides reinforcing material and exercises. PC Skills courses keep individuals interested and involved - and quickly eliminate the "computer anxiety" of many nontechnical trainees. The PC Skills library includes introductory classes on PC's and a wide range of courseware on leading software applications, including Lotus, Microsoft and WordPerfect products.
